OSSD | Acumen International College

Introduction

OSSD is the Ontario Secondary School Diploma issued to students who have successfully completed high school in the province of Ontario, Canada. The certificate is issued directly by the Ministry of Education, Ontario, Canada.

In cooperation with the Rosedale Global High School in Canada and the Acumen International College (AIC), the diploma is being taught in the city of Yangon, Myanmar, so that students from Myanmar can get the high quality Canadian qualification to progress to top universities across the countries such as- Canada, US, Australia, UK, Japan and many more.

OSSD Delivery at AIC & Progression

To obtain an OSSD certificate in Canada, students must complete 30 credits in Grades 9 to 12 in high school. To get a Canadian High School Diploma (OSSD) taught in Myanmar, you need to study at least 6 Courses or 7 Courses.

Our partnered OSSD qualification provider, Rosedale Global High School in Canada, will check the 10th grade certificate or iGCSE/GCE A-Level scores of Myanmar students to complete the OSSD in one year and find out how many more credits they need to take in Canada through the Prior Learning Assessment Recognition (PLAR) system. The required subjects/credits will then be taught
by the Acumen International College.

After obtaining the OSSD certificate, not only universities in Canada, Australia, UK, United States, and Japan but also be placed in Singapore public universities.

Entry Requirements for OSSD

Since OSSD is composed of Credit Courses, Admission is considered according to the individual students who will apply.

In general, those who have passed at least (5) subjects in IGCSE; Those who passed the old Burmese ten-grade system, Those who are equivalent to the new Myanmar system (11th grade) can apply.

Scholarship: Terms and Conditions

Scholarship test can be done both physical and online, and you need to consult first with the AIC’s Education Counsellors.
The Scholarship Percentage will be considered depending on the:
- – interview results and
- – your previous academic transcripts (for Academic Excellence Reward)
Students are expected to arrive at least (15) minutes prior on the day of scheduled scholarship interview
The Scholarship % decision will be made by School Management Team and the decision is considered as final.
Recipients of the scholarship will get informed the amount of scholarship within (7) days via email or phone from school.
The Scholarship Offer is made within the limited time and it’s validity will be within the upcoming 2 weeks from the
offer you receive.
